Small Penis or Just..Obese?

So, do all fat men have little dicks? In a way, we can say both yes and no. Most obese men do appear to have a very small penis, many times within the micropenis range. However, if said men lost the extra weight, their penis (both erect and flaccid) would appear much longer.

One of the most common reasons for a totally fine penis to appear small or micro is obesity. When a man is overweight, fat doesn't go only to the belly. It also goes to his ass, neck, legs, cheeks and of course the pubic mound, which encases the penis making it look much, much smaller!
“A large pubic fat pad makes the penile shaft look shorter.” says Ira Sharlip, MD, clinical professor of urology at the University of California, San Francisco.
“In some cases, abdominal fat all but buries the penis. One way I motivate my overweight patients is by telling them that they can appear to gain up to an inch in size simply by losing weight.” says Ronald Tamler, MD, PhD, co-director of the Men’s Health Program at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

When measuring in an obese man the erect penis correctly, the erect size should not be different from what it would be if he lost weight. Measuring your penis correctly means pushing the ruler hard into the fat, pressing it back as far as it goes.

Obesity and its effects on apparent penis size
Obesity is associated with various diseases, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, certain types of cancer, and osteoarthritis. However, an apparent small penis is not often mentioned when discussing it.

In general, the more obese a guy is the smaller his penis will appear to be. Many obese men report having an average penis (5 to 7 inches erect) which appears to be half that size (3-5 inches erect) without the fat pat being squeezed.

In extreme cases of obesity (or in cases of obesity accompanied by a below than average size) the penis may be totally encased by the pubic fat,  creating what is colloquially known as a mangina. Obviously, this may cause a lot of embarrassment to the mangina owner!

Other than embarrassment, a fully encased in pubic fat penis creates other problems, including:
  • Urination becomes problematic and messy, especially when standing up
  • Increased risk for fungal infections and rashes, resulting from poor hygiene, heat and sweat.
  • Owner must make extra effort to keep his penis clean and dry
  • Odour problems.

Extreme obesity will make your penis appear smaller or even disappear completely!

If you are obese and thinking of penis enlargement  because your penis looks small, better consider first to lose the belly. You will lower the risk for all kind of deadly conditions (stroke.diabetes and heart attack to name a few) and your penis will appear significantly larger. It's not uncommon for obese men to gain 1-2 inches of apparent size just by losing the extra weight!
