Sex Education: Best Treatment For Small Penis?

Today I want to share with you a very interesting study I recently came across. The name of the study is "Treatment of men complaining of short penis" and was published in 2005. Purpose of the study was to report the outcome of a sex education-integrated treatment program on men complaining of a short-sized penis.

The study included 92 patients who presented at the Department of Andrology and Sexology of Cairo University Hospital, Egypt. As aforementioned, all men thought that they had a small-sized penis. The researchers first collected medical history, stressing on the duration of the complaint and sexual habits of the patients. Patients were also asked to complete the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) questionnaire and were tutored by an andrologist on sex education.

The researchers then measured penile length and girth twice using a tape measure in both flaccid and fully stretched states. Each patient was informed that if his flaccid and stretched penis size was 4 cm and 7 cm [or more] respectively, he was considered normal. I disagree with this part as I believe that a 9-10 cm long penis might fall within the "normal range" but it is still quite small and possibly a deal-breaker for many women. But that is just my opinion.

According to the study, not even a single man was found to have a micropenis. Which is quite surprising considering that all patients compained for having a small penis. The researchers also noted that the majority of the patients found the combination of sex education with standard penile measurements helpful and relieving.

"Men complaining of short penis could be treated using basic principles of sex education with objective methods of penile size evaluation. This combination can correct any previous sexual misconceptions, relieve unnecessary anxiety concerning penile size, and decrease the desire to undertake still-to-be verified lengthening procedures.", conclusion of the study.

Some thoughts
For me, what is so important about this study is that it showcases a very common male problem. And that is how almost every guy thinks he has a very small penis when in fact he is average or just slightly small! If you want to keep something from this study is that knowledge is power.

If you think your penis is small and thinking of having surgery or other penis enlargement options please first educate yourself on the human penis size. Chances are you will save money, time and regain your confidence just by knowing you are actually average!
